Terms of Use
The short version
Pay once, use Bendy on the Macs you own. Bendy is a decorative effect and is provided as is. Don't redistribute it. Refunds are handled through Polar.
License
When you buy Bendy you receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the app on up to three Macs that you own or control, activated with the license key Polar sends you. You may keep using the version you bought for as long as you like.
- You may not resell, sublicense, share, or publicly redistribute the app, your download link, or your license key. Keys found being shared may be revoked.
- You may not remove the app's name, branding, or notices, or pass it off as your own work.
- Reverse engineering for interoperability is fine where the law allows it. Rebuilding it into a competing product is not.
Purchases and refunds
Bendy is a one-time purchase sold through Polar, the merchant of record. Prices are shown at checkout and may include tax depending on where you are. After payment you get an immediate download of the disk image.
If Bendy doesn't work on your Mac or you're unhappy with it, email abelardeadrianangelo@gmail.com within 14 days of purchase and you'll get a refund through Polar. No questions, no forms.
Separately, the 50% back program refunds part or all of your purchase when a video you post about Bendy reaches a view threshold. Its own terms are on that page.
Requirements and permissions
Bendy needs macOS 14 or later, an Apple silicon MacBook with a lid angle sensor, and Screen Recording permission. Without that permission the effect cannot run. What Bendy does with the screen is described in the Privacy Policy. It's short.
What Bendy is, and isn't
Bendy is a visual effect drawn over your desktop as the lid closes. It does not change your files, windows, or settings. Reprojected windows are pictures; clicking on them does not click the real thing. If Bendy ever gets in the way, press Esc while it's focused, use Stop All Effects in the menu bar, or quit it.
Updates
Updates, when they happen, are delivered through the same Polar download. There is no promise of future updates, features, or support for future versions of macOS, though the aim is to keep it working.
No warranty, limited liability
Bendy is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the maker of Bendy is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from its use, and total liability is limited to the amount you paid for it. Some jurisdictions don't allow these limits, in which case they apply to the extent permitted.
Trademarks
Mac, MacBook, macOS, iPhone, and iPhone Duo are trademarks of Apple Inc. Bendy is an independent product inspired by them and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Apple.
Changes and contact
These terms may be updated; the current version always lives at this address with its effective date. Continued use after a change means you accept it. Questions go to abelardeadrianangelo@gmail.com.
